Questions boards ask us
Straight answers for the board meeting where someone asks “but what about…”.
SwitchingWe already have a website. Can we switch?
Yes. Build your new site in masjids.io while the old one stays up, then point your existing domain at it when you're ready. Your congregation never sees a gap.
GovernanceWhat happens to access when the board changes?
Access belongs to roles, not people. When an election closes, the winner automatically receives that role's permissions and the outgoing holder's access is handed over cleanly. Nobody has to hand over passwords at the AGM.
Your dataWho owns our donor list?
You do. Your donor and member data belongs to your masjid. We don't run ads and we never sell data.
Getting startedDoes this need a tech person?
No. If you can post in a WhatsApp group, you can run masjids.io. Your Imam, Treasurer and volunteers each get a simple dashboard for their own part, and the website is drag and drop.
One accountDo our members need a separate account for each app?
No. One account works across masjids.io, event.io, reverts.io and every other Ummah Web Services app.
PrivacyCan our masjid see what members do in other apps?
Only what members choose to share. Marriage profiles, mentorship conversations and personal finances stay private to the member.
EndowmentsWhat is the masjid endowment (Waqf)?
A fund your members contribute to without giving their money away. It's invested through halal profit-sharing, the earnings go to your masjid, and members can withdraw their principal after a notice period or make it permanent. It's in development and will be reviewed by a Shariah advisory board before launch.
Your moneyIs our money held by masjids.io?
No. masjids.io is software. Financial services will be provided through Baitulmaal, operated separately with a licensed partner bank.
BaitulmaalDo our members need Baitulmaal to donate?
No. Today's donations and memberships keep working as they do now. Baitulmaal will add more ways to give, not replace the ones you have.
reverts.ioIs reverts.io free for our masjid?
Yes, for masjids, mentors and new Muslims. Always.
PricingWhat does it cost?
Nothing. masjids.io is free for masjids, and it always will be.
